Chrome-Plated Induction-Hardened Ground Shafts

Our chrome-plated induction-hardened shafts are made of CK 55 material and have a surface hardness of 62+/-2 HRC. In particular, low surface hardness in linear bearing applications (55 HRC piston shaft, only non-chrome-plated induction-hardened shafts, mercury steel, etc.) causes scratching on the shaft. This prevents the bearing from operating on a clean surface and causes it to fail prematurely. The middle section of the shafts has normal hardness, and it is possible to reach the normally hard body by cutting teeth in the middle or removing chips from the hard outer surface. Additionally, SK series or SHF series aluminum bearings are used in the shaft bearings.
